‘Gym Instructor’ Vocational Training Program in Fitness, Delhi
SEDA India collaborated with IL&FS Institute of Skills to develop vocational skills through sports programs across India. As the lead expert in sport, physical education, outdoor recreation and wellness sectors, SEDA India and IL&FS Skills signed a partnership Agreement that was witnessed by Hon. Andrew Robb, Minister of Trade and Investment, Government of Australia on 13th January 2015 at the Australia-India Business Week in India organised by the Australian High Commission in New Delhi.
During four years of program implementation, SEDA India trained over 350 trainees and successfully placed 90% of them into jobs with various gyms in Delhi & NCR. Australia’s Education Ambassador to India and Australian cricket legend Adam Gilchrist, visited IL&FS Institute of Skills (IIS) in April 2016 to witness sports vocational training courses run by SEDA-India. He interacted with the students and ran a cricket clinic with the young enthusiasts. Acknowledging SEDA’s work vocational training programs, Adam Gilchrist exclaimed, “It is wonderful to see so much good work happening here. We hear about Australia-India’s education programs in Australia but it’s overwhelming to see it in real. I wish the good work keeps going.”
